Ingot

Title
Ingot
Description
The piece is large, it has a parallelepiped shape (two pyramid frustrums whose bases have been juxtaposed). The weight of the ingot indicates the fact that, most probably, it had been obtained from a single iron loop.
In blacksmith workshops, small or big pieces were cut out of it, out of which, various items were made by hammering (tools, weapons, items for everyday use etc.).
Until now, for the Dacian space, ingots shaped like this and having these dimensions were found only at Grădiştea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia.
