Description
The weight has an approximately pyramidal shape and it presents a circular orifice on its upper side. Clay weight was used for keeping tense the textile threads which were to be woven using a vertical loom. These types of artefacts are often found in almost all the Dacian period settlements. Find spot: Costeşti - Cetăţuie Dimensions: Height – 15,1 cm; Width – 11,5 cm.; Material: clay, coarse brick-red paste, containing mica, chaff and pebbles. Execution technique: hand-built |
