Description
The bowl has a deep body and a tall bottom ring. On the upper side the wall is almost straight, ending in an everted rim. The profile of the vessel is similar to the letter “S”.
This fine vessel was probably used in serving and consuming food. It is typical especially to the Dacian sites from the Orăştiei mountains. Two variants are documented, of various capacities.
Find spot: Grădiştea de Munte – Meleia (Hunedoara county)
Dimensions: height - 12 cm; rim diameter - 32,5 cm; base diameter - 10,4 cm
Material: clay, fine brown-yellowish paste
Technique: wheel-thrown, oxidation firing
