Title Handle

Description The item is arched and adorned in the middle with carved streaks. It ends in a punched circular model at one end. The side that was attached to the vessel is also arched, following the curve of the mouth. The crafter’s mark was applied on the handle, the word DIODORI (of Diodorus) is written in a frame. The workshop of Lucius Ansius Diodorus functioned in Capua in the south of Italy. The handle belongs to a specific type of bronze casserole which was used in the Roman world especially for mixing wine.
