Description
The item is slightly curved, edged and adorned with incised lines, featuring three holes and a ring at the upper side. The smallest hole, found in the centre is for the fixation bolt while the other two serve a mostly ornamental purpose. The item was attached to the mouth of a vessel so that one end of the handle would go through the ring. Vessels featuring this type of items in the Roman world were used for liquids.
