The tool has a massive body, gradually thinned and widened towards the blade which ends in a curved cutting edge. The piece has a rectangular poll, and the lateral sides of the eye were widened in the shape of lugs to provide a better steadiness. The axe belongs to the carpentry tool category. Various types were identified depending on their specialised uses – from cutting down and splitting trees to usual household tasks.
