Description
The tool has two striking faces. The body is rectangular section and narrows towards both terminals. The oval socket eye is placed in the middle where the body of the hammer slightly expands. On one of the sides of the hammer, right near the socket, a mark resembling to letter „ψ” is visible (it probably represents the initial of the craftsman’s name or that of the workshop’s owner). This rather light tool belonged most probably to a jeweller’s workshop in the capital city of the Dacian kingdom, Sarmizegetusa Regia.
