Description
The vessel has a truncated body, a rounded rim and a straight flat bottom. The large handle is attached to the rim and the bottom. The ornaments are impressed cordons placed horizontally under the rim and at the base of the handle, as well as vertically. This type of cup was mainly used for lighting, the vessel contained liquid fats on which there was a fuse floating on a wooden rest. This type of vessel is less frequent among the pottery finds in the Orăştiei Mountains Dacian settlement area, then it is in many other Dacian settlements.
