Discus
Title
Discus |
Description
The discus is not flat; it has an edge on the outside and it is slightly gibbous at the inner side. It is adorned with embossed concentric circles (edgings). The central features a perforation for a fixation bolt. Most likely the discus was used as a lid in which case it initially featured a knob in the centre. It is not excluded however that the item was placed on a stand and used as an ornament. Find-spot: Luncani – Piatra Roşie (Hunedoara county) Dimensions: D: 15 cm. Material: bronze Execution technique: cast |
